Stripe Connect Policy
Last updated: 2025
BLDTRU uses Stripe Connect to securely process payments and route earnings to makers. This policy explains how Stripe Connect is used, what information is shared, and what makers must understand when activating or disconnecting a Stripe account.
1. Purpose of Stripe Connect
Stripe Connect enables BLDTRU to:
- Verify maker identities and business information.
- Route payments securely to maker bank accounts.
- Handle tax reporting requirements (where required).
- Support refunds, disputes, and payment adjustments.
Activating Stripe Connect is required to sell on BLDTRU.
2. Account Requirements
Makers must complete Stripe’s onboarding process, which may include:
- Identity verification.
- Business or personal information.
- A valid bank account or payout method.
- Tax information when required by law.
Stripe may request additional documentation at any time. Makers must provide accurate and up-to-date information.
3. What Information Is Shared With Stripe
When a maker connects or manages a Stripe account, Stripe may receive:
- Name, email, and contact information.
- Business details.
- Financial and tax information.
- Identity verification documents.
- Transaction data necessary for payments.
Stripe handles all sensitive financial information. BLDTRU does not store bank account or full credit card numbers.
4. Fees & Payment Structure
Marketplace payment processing is handled through Stripe. Fees may include:
- Stripe payment processing fees.
- BLDTRU platform fees (displayed before connecting).
- Refund and dispute handling fees.
Fees are automatically deducted before payouts are issued.
5. Payouts
Earnings from completed orders are paid out directly to makers through Stripe, using Stripe’s payout schedule. Payout timing depends on:
- The maker’s country.
- Stripe’s internal risk policies.
- The maker’s successful identity verification.
BLDTRU does not control payout timing or schedules.
6. Refunds & Disputes
Refunds, chargebacks, or disputes initiated by buyers are processed directly through Stripe and follow Stripe’s terms.
- If a dispute is lost, the maker may be responsible for the transaction amount and any associated fees.
- BLDTRU may intervene to mediate disputes when appropriate.
7. Disconnecting Your Stripe Account
Makers may disconnect their Stripe account at any time through their dashboard. However, disconnecting your account will:
- Disable the ability to sell on BLDTRU immediately.
- Pause all current listings until the account is reconnected.
- Prevent future payouts until the account is reconnected.
- Not cancel or affect existing orders; makers remain responsible for fulfilling all open orders.
After disconnecting, Stripe may retain certain required records for regulatory, financial, and anti-fraud purposes.
8. Account Holds & Compliance Reviews
Stripe may place holds on funds or restrict payout access if required for:
- Fraud prevention.
- Dispute or chargeback volume.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
- Unusual transaction activity.
These policies are determined by Stripe and not controlled by BLDTRU.
9. Maker Responsibilities
To remain in good standing, makers agree to:
- Provide accurate identity and business information.
- Maintain a valid payment method for payouts.
- Comply with Stripe’s Terms of Service.
- Not engage in fraud, misrepresentation, or prohibited items sales.
